In Zaporizhia began issuing Russian birth certificates

In the Zaporozhye region, they began issuing Russian-style birth certificates. This was announced on July 25 by Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the regional administration.

Currently, they are issued in Melitopol, Berdyansk and Energodar.

“In addition, young parents will be able to take advantage of all support measures. We are talking about all the benefits that little Russians can use, ”RIA Novosti quotes him.

Earlier on Monday, Rogov announced that a referendum on the status of the Zaporozhye region could be held in the first half of September. A few days before, a decree was signed on the election commission for holding a referendum on joining the Russian Federation.

Also in mid-July, the total number of points for receiving documents for Russian citizenship increased to 10.

Back in late May, Alexei Selivanov, deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Zaporozhye region, told Izvestia that about 86% of the region’s population wanted to obtain a Russian passport. According to him, mostly pro-Russian residents remained on the territory of Zaporozhye.

On February 24, Russia announced the start of a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. It began against the backdrop of the situation in the region that worsened in mid-February. Then the authorities of the DPR and LPR reported on the increased shelling by the Ukrainian troops, announced the evacuation of the civilian population in the Russian Federation and asked for recognition of independence. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree.
