The State Duma proposed to extend the tax deduction to more expensive apartments.

A deduction may fall on housing worth up to 4 and 6 million rubles.

About it informs RT, citing a letter from parliamentarian Yevgeny Fedorov to head of government Mikhail Mishustin.

Fedorov writes that now a citizen who buys a house can be returned personal income tax (13%) from the amount of up to 2 million rubles, as well as from the amount of up to 3 million rubles on interest on the loan.

However, according to him, housing has now risen in price, especially in megacities. Therefore, the deduction must lead to the actual value of the property.

“I ask you to consider the possibility of increasing the amount from which citizens can make a tax deduction by two times – up to 4 million and 6 million rubles, respectively,” the Prime Minister said in an appeal.

Experts remind that you can apply for a tax deduction through the tax office or the employer.

Evgeny Fedorov is a member of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes.
