A criminal case has been initiated against a former OSCE employee from the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) under Art. 335 of the Criminal Code of the LPR on high treason. As the press service of the Ministry of State Security (MGB) of the LPR reported on July 23, the man was recruited by a resident of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Ukraine.

“It has been established that OSCE employee Dmitry Pavlovich Shabanov, who served as a security assistant at the Stakhanovskaya Forward Patrol Base of the mission, transmitted classified information in the military sphere to representatives of foreign intelligence services, acting to the detriment of the security of the LPR,” Gazeta.ru quotes the message.

Employees of the department established that Shabanov was recruited in 2016 by a former employee of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), a CIA resident in Ukraine, Andrei Lukashenko. Since 1999, he has been conducting intelligence activities on the instructions of CIA personnel officer Stephen Gabawix, a colonel in the US Army.

Earlier on Sunday, Russian law enforcement agencies detained a resident of Kherson, who was an agent of Ukrainian intelligence and provided the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with data on the movement of Russian troops in the Kherson region. The transfer of data by Kherson residents was carried out from these cameras of the video surveillance system.

On July 20, Yulia Zhdanova, a member of the Russian delegation at the talks in Vienna on military security and arms control, also indicated that CIA officers responsible for intelligence, weapons and training of Ukrainian troops continue to work in Kyiv today.

On July 19, Assistant Minister of the Interior of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) Vitaly Kiselyov said that NATO countries are tracking almost the entire territory of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LDNR) from satellites.

Russia launched a special operation to protect the DPR and LPR on February 24. It was preceded by an aggravation of the situation in the region, an appeal by the leadership of the Donbass republics to the Russian Federation with a request for help, and the subsequent recognition by Russia of the independence of the DPR and LPR. Kyiv has been conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup d’état in Ukraine, since 2014.
