The Soviet District Court of Lipetsk arrested three citizens of Ukraine who were preparing a terrorist attack at the city’s bus station for two months. This was announced on July 29 by the press service of the Judicial Department of the Lipetsk Region.
A 33-year-old man and two women, aged 44 and 36, have been prosecuted under articles on preparation for a terrorist attack, participation in extremist activities, and illegal possession of explosives.
Earlier that day, it was reported that a terrorist attack was prevented in Lipetsk, which was prepared by militants of the Right Sector extremist organization banned in Russia.
From the video of the interrogation published by the FSB, it follows that the saboteurs planned to arrange an explosion at the bus station. As the detainee clarified, at the direction of the leadership of the Right Sector, he was supposed to carry out terrorist attacks at the Sokol bus station in Lipetsk using an improvised explosive device (IED).
It has been established that citizens of Ukraine left packages and bags at bus stops, train stations and other public places in order to test the vigilance of the security forces.
They were trained by foreign instructors in sabotage and reconnaissance at the Desna training center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
In the cache of the detainees, the FSB officers found bomb components.
Also, the intentions of the detainees were confirmed by correspondence with other members of the Right Sector.
