Hungarian Prime Minister Orban: sanctions do not allow the European economy to recover

If European leaders lift sanctions on Russia, their economies may recover. This opinion was expressed by the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban.

He expressed confidence that if the anti-Russian sanctions are lifted, the prices for goods and fuel in the European Union, as well as the inflation rate, will immediately decrease. It would also allow the region to avoid recession, Orban said. His words are quoted by Magyar Nemzet newspaper.

“If the sanctions were lifted, prices would immediately fall by half, inflation would also fall. Without sanctions, the European economy would have recovered and could have avoided the impending recession,” Orban said.

At the same time, the United States authorities continue to impose sanctions against Russia. So, earlier the House of Representatives of the US Congress approved new restrictions on Russians.
