Heavy showers and winds up to 25 m/s are expected in Crimea on Saturday

In the afternoon and until the end of the day on August 6, heavy showers, thunderstorms, hail, and a flurry of 20-25 m/s are expected in places in Crimea. This was reported on Saturday on the website of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the republic.

As noted in the message, under such conditions, the likelihood of emergencies is high.

“There is a threat to the life and health of the population due to the possible fall of billboards, trees, weakly reinforced structures and possible breaks in power lines,” the agency noted.

There is also a possibility of incidents in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas and the Kerch Strait, the report recalled.

In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Crimea warned that the presence of people in the coastal zone, on piers and bank protection structures is life-threatening.

On the eve of the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand told Izvestia that on Saturday, August 6, very hot weather is expected in Moscow and the region with temperatures up to +34 degrees. At the same time, on Sunday, the thermometers will drop, heavy rains and thunderstorms are possible, he warned.

On August 3, Phobos Weather Center Leading Officer Yevgeny Tishkovets warned that “rocks from the sky” were expected in Central Russia on Sunday. According to him, this phenomenon is a thunderstorm with intense downpours, squally winds and mosaic hailstones up to 2-4 cm in diameter.
