The GS Group holding has launched a large-scale production of LEDs in the town of Gusev, Kaliningrad Region. The plant’s capacity is 145 million LEDs per year with the possibility of expanding production to 400 million units annually by 2022. The volume of investments in the project is estimated at 300 million rubles. The plant will produce LEDs in three main types of packages (2835 PLCC, 3030 EMC and 5050 EMC), which together now account for more than 90% of the Russian lighting market, the company told Kommersant.
“By the end of the year, it is planned to organize the production of drivers for power supplies for LED lighting devices for various purposes, and then launch a large-scale production of secondary optics for LED lighting fixtures,” added a company representative.
GS Group produces digital set-top boxes for Tricolor and other electronics, and at the beginning of this year announced that it plans to invest 25 billion rubles in business diversification. The parent company of the holding OJSC “Concern” Innovative Technologies “” is 90% owned by the Swiss General Satellite Group AG and 9% – by the president of the company Andrey Tkachenko (considered the beneficiary of the “Tricolor”), follows from the data of SPARK-Interfax.
