Grand Theft Auto developer to launch Ethereum game

Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two Interactive Software, through its subsidiary Zynga, has announced the release of the Web3 game Sugartown. It is reported by The Block.

To access Sugartown, you will need ERC-721 tokens called Oras, by staking which users will be able to accumulate energy, earn in-game currency and receive rewards.

The initial release of 10,000 tokens is scheduled for the end of 2023.

In the past, Take-Two Interactive Software CEO Strauss Zelnick has expressed interest in NFTs in the context of gaming, albeit pointing out their speculative nature.

Recall that in July, Sega postponed the launch of its own blockchain games, explaining that they are “boring” and do not bring pleasure.
