Germany was able to replace Russian coal with supplies from Africa and America

Germany from January to October last year imported from Russia 34% of all coal exports. The shares of energy purchases from the USA, Colombia, Australia and South Africa amounted to 20%, 15%, 14% and 7%, respectively. In total, Germany imported 43 million tons of coal last year. Deliveries increased by 4.7% compared to the previous year, Bethe noted.
