German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said that not all military equipment of the German army today is on alert.

According to her, the reason for the current situation is the reduction in defense spending in recent decades. The minister noted that the state of affairs in the army is actually different from the picture that is indicated in official documents.

“For example, on paper we have 350 Puma infantry fighting vehicles, 150 of them can be used,” she said.

Lambrecht supported the idea of creating a $100 billion defense fund. She noted that the German Armed Forces must be well equipped to carry out their tasks.
