Gazprom to make a statement on Nord Stream

Gazprom will make a statement on Nord Stream, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Malfunctions with turbines manufactured by the German Siemens for Nord Stream happen, the situation is complicated by sanctions and restrictions against Russia, said the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

In this regard, Gazprom will make a statement on the Nord Stream, Peskov said.

“We will definitely ask Gazprom to provide clarification from a technological point of view. In general, there are indeed problems with the turbines. The turbine has not yet arrived after the overhaul, it has not been installed, it is on its way. Let’s hope that this will happen sooner rather than later. But there are certain problems with another turbine. Gazprom is working on this situation,” Peskov explained.

The situation is complicated by the sanctions imposed against Russia. “If it weren’t for these restrictions, all repair, warranty and service work would be carried out in the usual, routine, operational manner,” Peskov stressed.
