Gazprom appealed the decision of the Stockholm arbitration to reduce the price of gas

The Polish oil and gas company PGNiG said that Gazprom has appealed against the decision of the Stockholm arbitration to lower gas prices.

“The PGNiG board reports that on June 2, 2020, it received information about the defendant (Gazprom) filing a complaint with the court of appeal in Stockholm about the cancellation of the decision of March 30, 2020 in the arbitration process on PGNiG’s lawsuit against Gazprom regarding a reduction in the contract price for gas supplied by Gazprom, the report said.

At the end of March, a Polish company said it had won a gas price case against Gazprom and was entitled to a refund of $ 1.5 billion. According to PGNiG, the court changed the price formula under the contract, in particular, in connection with its direct connection with natural gas quotes on the European market, and the arbitration decision relates to gas deliveries starting from January 1, 2014.

Earlier in April, PGNiG also announced that Gazprom had issued invoices for gas to it under the old conditions that were in effect before the Stockholm arbitration decision, but then adjusted them, taking into account the arbitration decision.
