KAMAZ-5490 NEO tractors, specially designed by order of Gazprom. Cars use environmentally friendly fuel – liquefied natural gas (LNG). Each truck is equipped with two special cryo tanks, which allow driving up to 1.4 thousand km without refueling.
“NGV fuel in Russia is becoming more popular year by year. Today, there are already about 700 gas filling stations operating in the country. More than half of them are Gazprom’s facilities, and we continue to build up the network of CNG filling stations,” said Denis Danilov, Deputy Director of the Siberian Branch of Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo.
Tractors running on natural gas will travel 10,000 km through 25 subjects of the Russian Federation. The finish of the rally will take place on September 15 at the site of the XI St. Petersburg International Gas Forum in St. Petersburg.
On July 27, KamAZ announced that it had delivered a second batch of large-class Nefaz buses to Novosibirsk. All machines for work on regular routes are equipped with engines running on compressed natural gas.
