The project was first announced in May 2021 amid the NFT boom. The animated series will be Fox’s debut in the segment. To do this, the TV company created the Blockchain Creative Labs business unit.

The plot of “Krapopolis” tells about a family of people, gods and monsters in the mythical Ancient Greece. Together they try to manage one of the first cities in the world.

In August 2022, the creators of the animated series launched the Krapopolis Krap Chickens NFT collection. According to OpenSea, its trading volume has reached 513 ETH (around $968,000) at the time of writing.

As a reminder, the total amount of NFT royalty payouts fell to a two-year low — almost 1,000 ETH (~$190,000), according to Nansen.

Previously, a rare non-fungible token #3953 from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection sold for a record low 200 ETH (~$372,000 at the time of the deal).
