The Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City Court held a preliminary hearing on the case of the former vice-governor of the Sakhalin Region, Dmitry Fedechkin. He is accused of embezzlement of property, regional media reported.
According to the investigation, the ex-official served as the head of the Gubernskiye Vedomosti publishing house. Taking advantage of his official position, he entered into an agreement with an agency to place advertisements for the municipality. However, the announced price of the service was greatly inflated. The damage caused to the publishing house is estimated at more than a million rubles.
A criminal case was initiated against Fedechkin under Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (misappropriation or embezzlement). The full text of the indictment will be announced on June 24.
