The StarkNet Foundation, behind the Tier 2 solution of the same name, has named former Facebook Regional Director Diego Oliva as its first CEO.

The ex-top manager is also a co-founder IoT-Glue Home and served on the Board of Directors of Just Eat.

The new CEO promised to focus on growing the ecosystem and expanding the community of StarkNet developers and contributors.

โ€œMy top priority will be to support, empower and build a strong community of developers and others that make StarkNet the most dynamic ecosystem for Ethereum development and scaling,โ€ Oliva said.

The project will delve into work on the STARK Proofs technology and its distribution on a global scale.

Recall that in December 2022, the payment giant Visa involved StarkNet in a proof of concept for enabling automated and programmable payments.

In February 2023, startup StarkWare expanded its partnership with Chainlink, a decentralized oracle network, to accelerate the adoption of an L2 solution.

Later, the project team presented a roadmap with a focus on performance and user experience in 2023, in the next – on the decentralization of operations and decision making. Analyst Colin Wu saw in the document signs of preparations for the release of a utility token and an airdrop.
