In the capital, on the night of June 10, heavy rain began with a thunderstorm and wind. The day before, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation recommended that drivers slow down and increase the distance from the vehicles in front, avoid sudden maneuvers, and park cars away from trees. Pedestrians were advised to avoid billboards and rickety structures, and avoid taking cover under trees.
Earlier, on July 8, Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, promised showers and thunderstorms in Moscow over the coming weekend. He noted that the weather in the capital will be affected by a “creeping frontal wave system of atmospheric fronts”, which will lead to showers with thunderstorms.
