Fed kept key rate at 0-0.25%

The US Federal Reserve has kept its key rate at the level of 0-0.25% per annum. This is stated in the statement of the regulator.

“Committee (on operations in the open market. – “B”) decided to maintain the target range of the federal funds rate at 0-0.25% and believes that it would be advisable to maintain this range until conditions in the labor market reach levels corresponding to estimates of maximum employment, and inflation growth – target 2 % “, – the message says.

In addition, the Fed improved its forecast for the country’s GDP and retained its forecast for unemployment for 2021. The forecast for US GDP growth for 2021 improved to 7% from the March forecast of 6.5% growth. For 2022, the forecast for GDP growth remained at 3.3%, as in March. The unemployment forecast for 2021 was kept at 4.5%. For 2020, the Fed predicts a decline in unemployment from 3.9 to 3.8%.

At the last meeting in March, the Fed also kept the rate at the same level.
