Eight Turkish security officials were injured after a missile strike on the border with Syria

In Turkey, eight people were injured in a rocket attack on a checkpoint (checkpoint) on the border with Syria. This was reported on November 20 by the TRT Haber TV channel.

According to him, the attack was carried out by members of the PKK / PYD organization, recognized as a terrorist organization in the republic. It is specified that a missile attack was carried out on the campus of the police for ensuring special operations at the border gate of Kilis-Onchupinar.

“Eight employees, including a commissioner and seven police officers, were injured as a result of shelling by terrorists from northern Syria,” the channel reports.

On Sunday night, Turkey carried out a new air operation “Claw and Sword” against terrorist groups. The Turkish Defense Ministry reported that 89 targets were destroyed in Iraq and Syria. It was also reported that as a result of a Turkish air strike, three Syrian soldiers were killed in the province of Al-Hasakah.

The Ministry of Defense also reported that the operation was carried out in response to an explosion that thundered in Istanbul on November 13 on the pedestrian Istiklal Street, popular with tourists. According to the latest data, as a result of the tragedy, six people died, another 81 were injured, among the victims were three Russian citizens.

Currently, 50 suspects of involvement in the terrorist attack have been detained, including Syrian citizen Ahlam Albashir, who is suspected of committing a terrorist attack. According to investigators, she left a bomb on Istiklal Street.

During the interrogation, Albashir confessed to having links with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which is banned in Turkey, and to entering the country illegally. In addition, it became known that she was trained at an intelligence school, and her teachers were the American military. However, the PKK denied any involvement in the Istanbul bombing.
