DPR authorities invited builders from the DPRK to the republic

The authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) are negotiating with Pyongyang on the arrival of builders from the DPRK to the republic. This was announced on August 9 on the air of Solovyov Live by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.

According to him, a “grand construction project” has begun in the DPR, it will gain momentum. Workers from the DPRK will come to restore the territories of the republic, he noted.

Pushilin recalled that before the imposition of sanctions, North Korea sent its personnel to construction sites in other countries. Builders from the DPRK are highly qualified, disciplined and show very good results.

“The first group, foremen who will look at the scope of work, should appear in the very near future,” Pushilin added.

The Republican Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working on a solution to the issue. Builders from the DPRK will arrive in the DPR this year.

On August 8, Russian Ambassador to North Korea Alexander Matsegora said that Moscow was ready to act as an intermediary in improving relations between North Korea and the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. According to the diplomat, the issues of bilateral and trilateral cooperation in various fields are currently being actively discussed by the ambassadors of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the LPR, and the DPR in Russia.

On July 21, Pushilin announced that he had instructed the republic’s Foreign Ministry to establish diplomatic relations with North Korea. He also noted that the DPR needs builders to restore the region, and North Korea has the necessary personnel for this.

On July 13, North Korea officially recognized the DPR and LPR, becoming the third UN country to do so after Russia and Syria. In response, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced the severance of diplomatic relations with North Korea.

Russia recognized the independence and sovereignty of the DPR and LPR on February 21 after an appeal by the heads of the republics to President Vladimir Putin. In addition, the Russian leader, as well as the heads of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin, signed agreements on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance.
