Trading on the New York Stock Exchange closed lower on Thursday. The Dow Jones fell 741.46 points, or 2.42%, to 29,927.07. It fell below 30,000 points for the first time since January 2021. The S&P slipped 123.22 points, or 3.25%, to 3,666.77 points. The NASDAQ fell 453.06 points, or 4.08%, to 10,646.10 points. On June 15, the US Federal Reserve System (FRS) announced an increase in the rate by 0.75 percentage points at once, to a range of 1.5-1.75%. The regulator explained such a sharp increase by the persistence of high inflation in the United States against the backdrop of improved business activity.
