The DFINITY Foundation, behind the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) ecosystem, has launched a $5 million grant program to develop DeAI.
The program provides for four levels of funding:
- $5000;
- $25,000;
- $50,000
- $100,000.
Grants are distributed in ICP tokens.
DFINITY Foundation Founder and Chief Scientist Dominic Williams told Decrypt that the main idea is to focus on “meaningfully merging AI with blockchain technology.”
“You have heard a lot of people talking about their blockchain supporting AI. What they really mean is that the wallet is integrated with ChatGPT or something like that. This is just chatter and nothing to do with AI and blockchain,” he added.
The organization believes that using an “internet computer” to train AI models provides a number of benefits, including working on a transparent public network with trusted results.
Recall that in January, the DFINITY Foundation announced the launch of the first decentralized exchange Sonic on the Internet Computer network.
Later, the organization introduced Chain-Key Bitcoin, a token backed by bitcoin at a ratio of 1:1.
