The Federal District Court for the District of Columbia did not satisfy the claim of Russian businessman Oleg Deripaska to lift US sanctions. Restrictions were introduced against the entrepreneur in 2018.
The court accepted the request of the US Treasury Department and closed the case. The decision can be appealed, reports “RIA Novosti” with reference to court documents.
The US Treasury imposed sanctions on several Russian entrepreneurs and large companies in 2018. Washington explained the decision by “various malicious activities of the Russian Federation.” The United States lifted sanctions on Mr. Deripaska’s assets – En + and Rusal – after the businessman relinquished control over them.
