Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Bogdanov held an organizational meeting on the Russia-Africa summit

Moscow, 4 February. Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov held a meeting with representatives of African states on the organization of the Russia-Africa summit.

Employees of the Foreign Ministry reported that the meeting was an important stage in the preparation of the international conference. Diplomats of the countries of the Black Continent got acquainted with the program of upcoming events.

The parties discussed the conditions for the stay of the leaders of African states and their delegations during the forum. The Russia-Africa summit will take place on July 26-29 in St. Petersburg.

In addition, during the meeting, the heads of the diplomatic missions of the Black Continent expressed their hope for the restoration of the mention of Patrice Lumumba in the name of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. RUDN University bore his name from 1961 to 1992.

Earlier, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Yuri Nikolaychik, announced the plans of the Belarusian delegation to take part in the Russia-Africa conference. The politician noted that this is a great opportunity for Minsk to establish new contacts with the mainland and strengthen existing ones.
