For the first half of 2023, the total damage from the activities of the largest cryptocurrency pyramids in the Russian Federation amounted to more than $50 million, Izvestia writes about this with reference to a study by the SCHARD service.

According to analysts, the number of Ponzi schemes raising funds in cryptocurrencies is constantly growing. If in 2022 their share was 58%, then in the first half of 2023 this figure exceeded 70%.

Experts cited the calculations of the Bank of Russia, according to which there are a total of more than 2,800 different pyramid schemes in the Russian Federation.

SCHARD noted that, on average, fraudulent projects work for two to four months, after which they disappear with the money of depositors. Often, former participants in the collapsed pyramids become the organizers of new similar schemes.

Recently, in order to attract the attention of the audience, companies talk about the project having its own cryptocurrency or metaverse.

Earlier, ForkLog reported that the damage from the financial pyramid Life is Good in the Russian Federation amounted to ₽15 billion, including in digital assets.
