Criminal cases launched in Latvia after events at the monument in Victory Park

In Latvia, three criminal cases, as well as 20 administrative cases, have been initiated in connection with the events that took place on May 10 at the monument to Soviet soldiers in Victory Park in Riga. This is reported by the LETA agency, referring to a police statement.

So, one of the cases was opened against a young man who was walking to the monument with the Russian flag, RIA Novosti reports. Two more criminal cases were initiated under the article with absurd wording about crimes against humanity, peace, etc. Administrative cases are related to alleged violation of the established procedure for organizing and holding meetings, marches and pickets, and a number of citizens are suspected of using prohibited symbols in a public place.

Recall that the authorities of the capital of Latvia on May 10 decided to remove the flowers laid at the monument to Soviet soldiers on Victory Day. For this they used a tractor. However, on the same day, the inhabitants of Riga again came to lay flowers at the monument. With the onset of the dark time of the day, a peculiar carpet of flowers with burning candles in honor of the soldiers who gave their lives in the Great Patriotic War was again formed near the monument in Victory Park.

Later it became known that the Latvian authorities decided to allow the demolition of the monument dedicated to the Soviet soldiers who liberated Riga. It is noted that the deputies voted for the termination of the article of the agreement between Riga and Moscow regarding the safety of memorial structures.

Members of the Latvian parliament who voted for the demolition of the monument to the Liberators of Riga are ghouls. This opinion was expressed by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
