Crimean resident sentenced to 20 years in prison for plotting terrorist attack

The man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for preparing a terrorist attack. In general, the punishment was imposed under eight articles.

From January to March 2021, a citizen published posts on social networks that contained calls for terrorist and extremist activities, as well as justifying terrorism.

In addition, the convict transferred money to finance the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham* international terrorist organization banned in Russia.

The investigation also established that the attacker was preparing a terrorist attack on the territory of the republic. He made an improvised explosive device that he kept in the apartment.

The court sentenced the man to 20 years in a penal colony with the first five years in prison. He was also fined 300 thousand rubles.
