China warns US of threat of resumption of trade war

The trade war between the United States and China may resume due to Washington’s interference in Beijing. The Chinese authorities warned their American colleagues about this, writes The Wall Street Journal.

Chinese authorities consider US intervention in Hong Kong and Taiwan unacceptable. Beijing said that it intends to fulfill its obligations in the first phase of the trade deal, but plans to increase purchases of US products will be in jeopardy if US intervention in Chinese affairs does not stop.

Washington and Beijing concluded a trade ceasefire in January 2020, ending the trade war of the two largest economies in the world. Within its framework, China agreed to increase purchases of American products by 76.7 billion dollars during the first year of the agreement and by 123.3 billion dollars during the second. The American side expects the deal will reduce the trade deficit.
