China does not see nuclear risks due to the situation with the visit of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. This was announced on Wednesday, August 3, by the head of the disarmament department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Fu Tsong.

In addition, Beijing expressed the hope that the words of US President Joe Biden about readiness for dialogue with the Russian Federation on the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty (START) will materialize into actions.

“We hope that what Biden said will come true. We hope that this dialogue between Russia and the United States on strategic stability and the reduction of nuclear arsenals can be continued,” he said.

Fu Tsong also called on Russia and the US to continue dialogue on further reductions in nuclear arsenals.

It is also noted that the AUKUS alliance poses risks in the field of nuclear proliferation and is contrary to the IAEA statute.
