Ukraine should host the Eurovision Song Contest next year. This was stated by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The European Broadcasting Union previously conducted an analysis, during which it found out that Ukraine would not be able to host the song contest in 2023. In this connection, Eurovision may be transferred to the UK.
“Ukrainians won the Eurovision Song Contest (this year. — Approx. ed.). I know that we had a fantastic performance, we came second, and I would like (competition. – Approx.ed) to be held in our country. But the fact is that they won and deserve to be held. I think they can organize a contest, they should run it. Kyiv or any other safe Ukrainian city would be a fantastic venue,” Johnson said.
Earlier it became known that Kyiv did not agree with the decision of the organizers of the song contest to postpone Eurovision next year. This was stated by the Minister of Culture of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko.
