Crypto exchange venture arm Binance has announced a $15 million investment in Web3 gaming platform and publisher Xterio.
The Swiss company is developing Free-to-play and on-chain games. The team will use the funds received to develop the ecosystem, launch new projects and integrate artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into them.
As part of the partnership, Binance will support the startup’s growth and also integrate the platform’s native token into the BNB Chain.
“This significant investment confirms Binance Labs’ long-term vision for Web3 gaming and recognizes Xterio as a top-notch, world-class gaming platform. The partner’s investment expands our ability to create a transformative token and high-quality games,” said Michael Tong, co-founder of the project.
Xterio is currently working on an AI game model generator and an “AI emotion engine”.
The startup team has previously worked for game studios and publishers including FunPlus, Ubisoft, Krafton, Jam City, NetEase and more. Xterio’s projects include the Age of Dino strategy and the online RPG Overworld.
Recall that in June, the developer Mythical Games closed a $37 million funding round led by Scytale Digital.
In the same month, startup Argus Labs, which develops an SDK for creating interoperable blockchain games, raised $10 million.
