Biden’s second test for coronavirus showed a positive result

US President Joe Biden’s new coronavirus test came back positive. This was stated on Monday, August 1, in a statement by the US leader’s attending physician, Kevin O’Connor, distributed by the press service of the White House.

“This morning, as expected, his[Biden. — Ed.]SARS-CoV-2 antibody test remains positive,” O’Connor said.

According to him, the American leader will continue to comply with strict self-isolation measures until his test shows a negative result. At the same time, Biden will perform his official duties while in the White House.

Earlier, on Saturday, July 30, the President of the United States was forced to return to quarantine. After several negative tests in the previous days, his coronavirus test came back positive.

On the same day, political commentator Peter Baker, in an article for the New York Times, expressed the opinion that the re-quarantine of the head of state would seriously worsen his rating and undermine the Democrats’ efforts to maintain leadership after the fall elections. He noted that the re-isolation pushes back Biden’s tour of the country.

In particular, due to a positive test for coronavirus, the heads of the White House canceled trips to the states of Delaware and Michigan planned for the coming days.
