President Vladimir Putin signed a law extending the restriction on the purchase of complex financial instruments for unqualified investors. The document was published on Friday on the official Internet portal of legal information.
The relevant law was approved by the State Duma at a plenary session on March 22, and by the Federation Council on March 23.
Restrictions on the acquisition by unqualified investors of complex financial instruments, such as derivatives, bonds with structured income, and others, are already in place. However, these measures are limited to April 1, 2022.
The document extends the period of restrictions on the acquisition of complex financial instruments by unqualified investors for two years, until April 1, 2024.
As previously noted in the Federation Council, this decision was made, among other things, because of the sanctions against Russia, since the restrictive measures had a strong impact on the financial market.
