A limited batch of station wagons and cargo vans Lada Largus in the amount of 1.8 thousand units will be able to be produced thanks to the accumulated components and assemblies assembled during the downtime of the conveyor, clarified at AvtoVAZ.
“Currently, welding and body painting are being carried out, the production of the first commercial vehicles is expected at the end of this week,” the plant said.
The agency said that AvtoVAZ would announce the specific dates for restarting the production of Lada Largus later.
After a long downtime at the car factory, the Lada Granta assembly line was first restarted. The release of simplified versions of the model started on June 8. On July 13, AvtoVAZ resumed production of the Lada Niva Legend SUV.
In January-June 2022, AvtoVAZ managed to sell 74,714 thousand vehicles in Russia. This figure is 2.7 times less than in 2021.
On July 19, the AvtoVAZ museum reported that on the plant’s birthday, which is celebrated on July 20, admission to the museum of the enterprise will be free for everyone. In addition to regular expositions, the Konyukhov Project exhibition area will operate. It is dedicated to the record flight of the famous traveler on a motorized paraglider. His expedition was supported on the ground with the help of two escort vehicles – Lada Niva Travel and Lada Niva Legend.
