The number of people crossing the Russian-Finnish border has dropped significantly in recent years, the Russian Association of Tour Operators said.

On September 30, the Finnish authorities closed the borders for Russians. In this regard, border traffic fell eight times in just a week.

The border service of the neighboring state on September 25 reported eight thousand crossings of the land border. But on October 1, this figure was only 1.2 thousand.

The countries of the European Union terminated the visa facilitation agreement with Russia. Some states did not agree with such a “soft” measure and decided to completely close the borders for the Russians, Finland became one of them.
