This is stated in the study of the news agency Reutersreleased on Friday, Ukrinform reports.
“Nearly three dozen heads of Russian armed companies and at least 14 defense enterprises have not been sanctioned by the United States, the European Union or the United Kingdom,” the publication notes.
In particular, among the arms magnates who have not been subjected to such restrictions is Alan Lushnikov, the largest shareholder of the Kalashnikov Concern JSC, which produces the AK-47. According to verified data, Lushnikov owns 75% of the concern’s shares. And although the US itself was sanctioned in 2014, as well as the EU and the UK this year, the actual owner of the concern was not affected.
The same situation is with the Almaz-Antey enterprise. It was included in the sanctions lists of Western countries, but its CEO Yan Novikov was not punished.
In addition, the list of restrictions does not include the plant named after. Degtyarev for the manufacture of small arms and anti-tank weapons, the Klimovsky special plant producing cartridges and other ammunition, the Novosibirsk Cartridge Plant, etc.
In parallel, it turned out that the already imposed sanctions against other Russian defense magnates and enterprises were applied inconsistently, as some Western governments imposed fines, others refrained from doing so.
As Ukrinform reported, Vladimir Zelensky said that Western sanctions are not enough to stop Russian aggression in Ukraine.
