Ambassador of Bangladesh to Moscow announces work to overcome sanctions against Russian oil

Bangladesh is trying to negotiate with Moscow on the supply of Russian oil, despite the sanctions, Bangladesh Ambassador to Russia Kamrul Ahsan told RIA Novosti.

“Now we are trying to draw Russia’s attention to ourselves. Here, Russia is helping us build a nuclear power plant, this is a $14 billion project. Gazprom has a contract to explore gas fields in Bangladesh. We are trying to negotiate the import of Russian oil. Although I know that this falls under US sanctions. But we are open to negotiations with Russia,” he said.
