Aeroflot opened its own air hub on the basis of Krasnoyarsk airport, it became the second after the hub at Sheremetyevo in Moscow. At the first stage of the hub launch, Aeroflot will open five directions: Krasnodar, Sochi, Simferopol, Blagoveshchensk and Irkutsk.
The general director of the airline, Mikhail Poluboyarinov, said that at the first stage, three Boeing-737-800s would be based in Krasnoyarsk, later up to five Superjet-100s. Aeroflot flights will fly to five destinations: Krasnodar (4 times a week), Sochi (6 times), Simferopol (4 times), Blagoveshchensk (6 times) and Irkutsk (daily).
“We see international destinations from Krasnoyarsk. This is China – most likely from 2022. Asia, as well as the CIS republics, is possible, ”added the head of the company (quoted by Interfax).
Earlier, Aeroflot twice postponed the opening of the air hub due to a difficult epidemiological situation and a decrease in passenger traffic. In April, Aeroflot increased its passenger traffic 9.3 times and came out on top in terms of traffic among Russian airlines.
