In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a man was detained for illegal fishing with a net. This was reported by the Moscow-Oka Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for Fishery.
The poacher was discovered during a survey of the water area of the Cheboksary reservoir. On a motorboat, a man used a fishing net about 60 meters long to fish.
According to news agency NewsNN, 11 pikes and three perches were seized from the boat. The damage caused to water resources is estimated at 10.9 thousand rubles.
A criminal case has been initiated under Art. 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. A Nizhny Novgorod citizen faces up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 500,000 rubles.
