More than $19 million has been bid on eBay for a dinner with Warren Buffett. It’s the 21st and final time the billionaire businessman auctioned off a private lunch for Glide, a San Francisco nonprofit that helps the poor, the homeless and addicts.
The winning bid in the auction that ended Friday night surpassed the previous record $4.57 million set in 2019 by cryptocurrency entrepreneur Justin Sun. It is not yet known who the new winner is.
Proceeds go to meals, shelter, HIV and hepatitis C testing, vocational training and child support. Buffett, 91, has raised more than $53.2 million for Glide in 21 auctions organized since 2000.
