Global sales of Lada cars for the six months of 2021 grew by 41.1%, to 215.4 thousand units, according to a press release from the Renault group. In Russia, 200.2 thousand cars (+ 51%) were sold under the Lada brand.
Four Lada models entered the top ten best-selling in the country: Granta is in first place (72.8 thousand cars), Vesta is in second (57 thousand cars), Niva and Largus also got into the rating.
In the first half of 2020, global sales of Lada cars reached 152.74 thousand, 140.62 thousand were sold in Russia. Compared with last year’s indicators, export sales of Lada increased by 25.7%, to 15.23 thousand units, reports TASS with reference to the reporting of Renault.
Today, July 16, AvtoVAZ suspended production of Lada Granta and Lada Niva models due to interruptions in the supply of electronic components from Bosh Samara. Over the past two months, the concern has already suspended production several times. Nicolas Maure, president of the company, said that the problem of supplying parts “is becoming very complex.”
