The organizers of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) are considering the introduction of mandatory vaccination for its participants, said Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev. The EEF will be held in Vladivostok on September 2-4.
Mr. Trutnev told reporters that he sees no reason to cancel the forum and preparations for it are already underway. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the degree of restrictions will depend on the epidemiological situation. “The possibility of introducing vaccinations is undoubtedly being considered,” he told TASS at a press approach in Vladivostok.
In 2020, the WEF was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year, the economic forum will be held on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in a hybrid format. It is also planned to organize separate studios of the forum in Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo, the sites will work in the mode of teleconferences.
