VTB Group increased its stake in the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange from 5% to 10.8%

On May 28, VTB Group completed a deal to increase its stake in the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange by 10.77%. Previously, the bank owned 5%. The seller of the shares is not listed.

St. Petersburg Stock Exchange was founded in 1997. The main shareholder today is NP RTS (54.1%). Since November 2014, foreign securities have been traded on it, at present there are about 1.5 thousand issuers.

On April 19, VTB Group acquired 5% of ordinary shares of the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange from NP RTS. The main shareholder made a decision to sell “taking into account VTB’s share in securities turnover” on the trading floor.
