The chairman of United Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, could not come to the party headquarters due to the fact that he was ill. Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Andrei Turchak told about this on September 19.
“He was ill, he has a severe cough. He could not be with us today, ”he said, addressing members of the same party.
At the same time, Medvedev asked to convey words of gratitude to everyone who contributed to the victory of the party, added Turchak.
Earlier in his speech, Turchak congratulated the candidates from the United Russia party on a clean and fair victory in the elections to the State Duma.
After processing 25.03% of the vote, candidates from the United Russia party gain 44.26% in the elections to the State Duma.
On September 19, Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko stated that there were no serious violations that could cast doubt on the will of voters in the elections to the State Duma of Russia. She added that the last elections were democratic, transparent and legitimate.
At the same time, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin noted that the last elections to the State Duma are the most important parliamentary elections that will determine the fate of Russia.
In 2021, elections to the State Duma were held for the first time in a new, three-day format. September 19 was the main voting day, and September 17 and 18 were optional.
