Contrary to the instructions of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the transfer of the Magadan fishing port to the ownership of the region has been too long, the situation looks like sabotage, said Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev. Mr. Trutnev intends to ask to organize an official investigation.
“There is an order from Mikhail Mishustin to transfer these structures from the National Fishery Resources to the ownership of the Magadan Region. In order to put in order and use for the benefit of economic development, the fishing industry. Our wonderful officials from Rosimushchestvo and National Fishery Resource have written a roadmap on the transfer of these facilities until 2023. I believe this is called sabotage. Someone is simply sabotaging the execution of the order of the Prime Minister. I will ask you to organize an internal investigation and find out who works like this. Until 2023, just write a piece of paper, nothing else is needed. Because until it is in the hands of the owner, it will remain in such beauty, ”Mr. Trutnev told reporters during his working visit to Magadan (quoted by RIA Novosti).
The fishing terminal of the Magadan seaport includes four berths. They are federally owned. The structures have worn out by 50-80%, they cannot be fully used. The state budget does not provide funds for the reconstruction of the port. The Governor of the region Sergey Nosov in 2019 told Mr Trutnev about the poor condition of the facility in 2019. The latter instructed to consider the issue of transferring the port from FSUE “Natsrybresurs” to the jurisdiction of the region.
In August 2020, Mr. Mishustin went on a trip to the Far East. At the same time, the prime minister promised to investigate the reasons for the delay in the project for the reconstruction of the fish terminal of the Magadan seaport. He took from the governor Sergei Nosov a promise that if the terminal is transferred to regional ownership, the authorities will be able to show “a completely different port.”
