According to TASS, over the six months of this year, 545.8 thousand individual enterprises were closed in the country. This indicator reached an eight-year maximum: more often individual entrepreneurs were closed only in the first half of 2013. Then the work was stopped by 594.2 thousand individual enterprises.
The number of IP closings has grown in all regions of Russia. The worst dynamics was recorded in Chechnya (5.8 thousand individual entrepreneurs closed there, this is 3.5 times more than a year earlier), Dagestan (13.1 thousand individual entrepreneurs closed, 3.3 times more than a year ago) and in Chukotka (13.1 thousand individual entrepreneurs closed, an increase of 2.5 times).
At the same time, in Karachay-Cherkessia, the number of new IP openings increased 2.3 times year-on-year. In Tuva and Kalmykia, there was an increase of 2.1 times, and in North Ossetia – by 82.9%.
Most (51.4%) of individual enterprises closed in the first half of 2021 were liquidated on their own initiative. Another 47.1% of individual entrepreneurs were excluded from the register of individual entrepreneurs by the decision of the registering authority. The third reason for the liquidation of individual entrepreneurs is the physical death of the business owner. This factor accounts for 1.2% of business closings, and this is the lowest figure in the last six years.
Also, individual enterprises were closed due to bankruptcy, departure of foreigners abroad, or forcibly by a court decision.
