The exchange-based territorial index of Regular-92 (Ai-92) gasoline increased by 0.7%, up to 56.29 thousand rubles. per ton and updated the historical maximum, TASS reports with reference to the data of the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange (SPIMEX).
The value of the brand hit record values twice last week. On July 12, the price of the AI-92 reached 55,720 rubles. per tonne and exceeded the historical maximum in May 2018. The next day, the price of gasoline again renewed the record: the cost of Ai-92 on SPIMEX amounted to 56,024 rubles. per ton.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy explained the rise in gasoline prices by general inflation, fluctuations in wholesale prices against the background of seasonal demand, as well as an increase in demand against the background of frosts. In May, an adjusted damper came into effect in Russia, designed to contain prices.
