In 2022, monthly pension payments will be indexed to some categories of citizens by 5.8%, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova. According to her, the size of the old-age insurance pension next year on average in Russia will be 18,521 rubles.
“The draft budget of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation provides for the average annual old-age pension for non-working pensioners in 2022 to be 18,521 rubles.” She also noted that from February 1, the size of monthly payments for 14.5 million Russians will be indexed by 5.8%. In 2023 and 2024, payments will increase by 4%, respectively.
On September 23, the government issued a negative opinion on the bill on the indexation of pensions for working pensioners, which was introduced in July by deputies of the Liberal Democratic Party and Senator from the Smolensk Region Sergei Leonov. The law on the abolition of the indexation of pensions for working pensioners has been in effect in Russia since 2016.
