Zaur Tedeev has been appointed acting head coach of the Rostov football club. This was announced on Saturday, September 25, on the team’s website.
It is noted that Tedeev has been working in the Don club system since 2019. The year before last, he was appointed head coach of the youth team of Rostov.
A number of youth players trained by Tedeev are already playing for the main squad – Danila Sukhomlinov, Andrey Langovich, Viktor Melekhin and Maxim Turishchev, writes Sport-Express.
Under the guidance of a mentor in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, the youth team of Rostov repeated the M-League record for the number of victorious matches in a row – 13 games.
“Rostov” after eight rounds of the Russian championship takes 14th place in the standings, gaining six points.
Earlier on Friday, it became known about the departure of Yuri Semin from the post of head coach of “Rostov”.
Semin took over the leadership of Rostov on August 4 this year. The contract with the 74-year-old coach was signed for two years after Valery Karpin resigned from his post after being appointed head coach of the Russian national football team.
Under the leadership of Semin, “Rostov” played seven matches (3 losses, 3 draws and 1 victory). The coach won gold medals of the Russian championship with Lokomotiv three times and led the club to victory in the Russian Cup six times. He also headed the Russian national team, Dynamo Moscow, Dynamo Kiev and other teams.
