The airlines plan to cancel up to 50% of flights to the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory, TASS sources close to Aeroflot and Pobeda said. This is due to the requirement for the crew to provide coronavirus tests or a vaccination certificate.
The agency’s source said that hotels in the Krasnodar Territory sent a letter to the airlines, in which they announced the ban on accommodating flight attendants and pilots without certificates or test results. “Since now is the season for the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory, many airlines have crews in these cities in” relay races “and carry out the resort flight program. But airlines simply cannot physically provide everyone with PCR testing every three days and certificates, ”said the interlocutor of TASS.
An agency source close to Aeroflot said that half of the flights to Sochi, Anapa and Gelendzhik could be canceled. A source close to Pobeda said that the airline is considering the possibility of reducing its flight program to Krasnodar Territory by 40-50%. According to him, the company places 50 people daily in Sochi for pre-flight rest.
From July 1, hotels, hotels, boarding houses and sanatoriums of the Krasnodar Territory can accept tourists only if they have a negative PCR test or a document confirming vaccination against COVID-19. This is due to an increase in the incidence of coronavirus. Tour operators expect that in July the flow of tourists will decrease by 20-25%, and in August – by 50-80%. Market participants fear technical problems with accommodation and expect an outflow of Russians to foreign resorts and to the private sector.
